The energy transition is a joint project of manufacturers of renewable energy technologies, the end customer and the energy supplier. A recent EUPD research analysis demonstrates that only 28 percent of private households trust conventional energy suppliers to solve the problems of the energy transition sustainably. Utilities with an outstanding portfolio of products and services related to energy system transformation will be honored in their pioneering role with the Energiewende Award 2020.
As a replacement for the official award ceremony at the innovation platform "The smarter E Europe - Europe's largest energy industry platform" in Munich, a municipal utility Best Practice Day will be held in 2020 at which selected winners of the Energiewende Award will present their solutions under the motto "Learning from the best". The digital event consists of three individual sessions, framed by the keynote speakers Prof. Dr. Claudia Kemfert (Head of the Department of Energy, Transportation, Environment at DIW Berlin), Dr. Simone Peter (President of the German Renewable Energy Federation) and Katja Diehl (Owner of She Drives Mobility).
Please note, that the event will be held in German.
