Gurmeet Kaur

Gurmeet has been based in Dubai since 2007. She has advised public and private clients on energy and infrastructure projects including advising on structuring, procurement, regulatory, corporate issues and contractual documentation .
Gurmeet is currently a board member of Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA) and has spoken at various conferences on energy and infrastructure. She has also  written various articles on energy and infrastructure. Gurmeet is listed as "Highly Regarded" in ILFR 2019 and in Who’s Who in MENAT Renewables Guide 2017.

Gurmeet's relevant experience includes:
•    Lenders to the successful bidder for a Project in Category B of Round 2 of the REPDO Solar PV IPP in Saudi Arabia
•    Bidding consortium to the 300MW Sakaka solar IPP, part of Round 1 of the REPDO Solar PV IPP in Saudi Arabia.
•    Votalia in relation to their bid for the 30MW private PPA procured by NADEC in Saudi Arabia
•    GCL in relation to a 3GW solar project in Saudi Arabia procured by SEC.
•    The lenders in relation to the al Jouf and Al Rafa 100MW solar PV project in the northern region of Saudi Arabia.
•    Shanghai Electric in relation to the 950MW DEWA Phase IV solar IPP in Dubai, using CSP and PV technology. We won the Legal Adviser of the Year 2019 and 2020 for our work on CSP projects.
•    A bidder in relation to the 200MW DEWA Phase 2
•    EPC Contractor in relation to the 2GW Al Dhafra Solar PV project in Abu Dhabi
•    Lenders to a bidding consortium for the 900MW Al Kharsa Solar PV project in Qatar
•    A bidder in relation to the hybrid solar PV, diesel and battery storage tender across 11 sites procured by Tanweer in Oman
•    LCEC in relation to wind projects in Lebanon, and combined solar and storage projects.
•    Successful bidder for the Taif ISTP project in KSA procured by SWPC
•    Bidding consortium for the Dammam and Jeddah ISTPS in KSA procured by SWPC
•    Lenders for the Shuqaiq 3 450,000 m3/day water desalination project in Saudi Arabia procured by SWPC.
•    Lenders to the Al Wakra wastewater project in Qatar.
•    SEC in relation to the F3 Fujairah IPP.
•    Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) on US$3bn Facility D IWPP; a 2400MW / 130MIGD plant which won Middle East and Africa PPP Deal of the Year – Project Finance International (PFI) Awards 2016 and Project Finance Deal of the Year for Facility D IWPP in Qatar – IFLR Middle East Awards 2016.
•    The sponsors in relation to the Taweelah IWP in Abu Dhabi, the largest IWP globally.
•    Developers in relation to the prequalification round for the proposed 40MWH Ras Al Khaimah solar power plant project and the winning bidder on the related RO plant. This is first private sector utility project in the UAE with Utico.
•    A bidder in relation to the 500MW solar IPP in Oman
•    Voltalia in relation to various solar projects including:
-    4 solar PV projects in Round 1 in Jordan (totalling 50MW), a solar project in Pakistan and Kenya, two solar projects of 100MW each in Nigeria.
-    in relation to their Round 2 FIT Tariff Project in Egypt.
-    in relation to their bid in the Round 3 Jordan solar program.
•    Various parties including developers such as Engie, Martifer, and Access Power on the Egyptian 4.3GW renewable energy programme
•    The Investment and Development Authority of Ras Al Khaimah in relation to the 40MW RAK rooftop solar project. This is the first project in the Northern Emirates and is to be procured on an IPP basis and involves PPAs with a combination of private and public offtakers.
•    Etihad Energy Services in developing rooftop solar standard form contracts to be used in relation to a number of their rooftop solar tenders in Dubai and Hatta with private offtakers.
•    A DFI/donor bank in relation to the development of a 6.1MW solar rooftop project to be located at the Gaza Industrial Estate. This involved drafting the PPA with a number of corporate offtakers for use  in the Gaza industrial estate.
•    OPWP in relation to the 800MW Misfah IPP.
•    Amana in relation a solar lease contract for the development of their rooftop solar projects in the UAE with corporate PPA's.  
•    Tanweer Solar Energy Technology in relation to the 40MW DP World solar rooftop project in Dubai with DP World. The work involved reviewing Dubai regulations on rooftop solar and private PPAs.
