Jeremy Ong

Jeremy is the regional solar segment leader for APAC. He has worked for 19 years in the Energy Industry and in that, 12 years’ are in the solar industry since the start of 2008. He has >6.5 GWp of ground mount PV and 2GW of FPV project experience. Covering technology qualification, FPV supplier benchmarking, technical due diligence, preliminary designs, bankability reports and factory audits. He is well versed the latest PV module, tracker and inverter technologies as well as in project execution, O&M and Asset management services for PV. Most of his experience is with utility scale ground mount, floating PV and energy storage technology and grid integration. He has strong technical and operational experience building the technical and service teams in APAC in 5 countries and helping to translate that to business strategies to successfully develop innovative electrical solution bricks to help support the growth strategy for solar in APAC to a $120M/yr business.

Since joining DNV GL, Jeremy’s responsibility is to provide the growth strategy and manage all the solar activity for APAC with a regional team of >40 dedicated solar experts and has helped increase growth of 35% for the region over the last 2yr. His focus is to help build the regional multidisciplinary teams and helped develop key customer engagement regionally and globally with differentiated services. He also takes on key project sponsor and manager roles for floating PV and solar OE projects. He has strong experience in solar PV detailed design, EPC selection, yield assessment/optimization, site audit, construction monitoring, asset operational management, SCADA systems and predictive analytics in performance monitoring. In his last three roles he has worked on various ground mounted PV, Floating PV, Microgrids and Energy Storage projects in the following countries USA (California), Spain, Germany, UK, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Australia, Indonesia and India.
