Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) - energetically sensible use of facades

Germany needs a multiple of installed photovoltaic capacity in order to have a climate-neutral building stock by 2050. Building-integrated PV (BIPV) will play a key role in this, as it does on facades. Building-integrated photovoltaics enable facades to be used in an energetically sensible way. A great advantage is when already existing surfaces or surfaces that are to be built anyway can be used several times. Although there are more and more design-appealing examples in practice, there are still reservations and ambiguities.
