Europe therefore needs a new growth strategy if it is to make a successful transition to a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy. The European Green Deal is the European Union's roadmap for a sustainable EU economy. It aims to ensure that climate and environmental challenges are successfully addressed across all policy areas. The European Commission recently launched the Recovery Instrument to help the EU economy recover from the COVID-19 pandemic – will it be green recovery and is solar included in these plans?

Aurélie Beauvais is the Policy Director and CEO ad interim of SolarPower Europe, the European association representing companies and organization active along the whole Solar value chain. SolarPower Europe is particularly committed to shaping the regulatory environment and enhance business opportunities for solar power in Europe. Prior to joining SolarPower Europe, she headed the EU Affairs department of the French Union of Electricity (UFE) from 2012 to 2017.
