It is stated that in order to improve the efficiency of electric power generation, it is necessary to develop large-scale (central) installations and, consequently, to carry out a large amount of electric power transport (centralized power generation). However, distributed or decentralized power generation is increasing significantly, is close to consumers, and relatively small equipment is used with a power generation capacity comparable to that of large power plants.
One of the biggest challenges facing power supply systems is the difficulty (and cost) of energy storage during periods of low demand, so that it can be used later during peak demand. From a renewable energy perspective, this is especially important for them to become a realistic alternative to conventional energy.
In this webinar, Horacio Ramos from Siemens will make a technical description of the energy storage system and its functionalities, as well as the Energy Storage Service.
