Industry News – Thursday, April 16, 2020

Dutch system integrator and manufacturer of transformer substations, energy storage systems and EV charging stations Alfen celebrates the milestone of having produced more than 100,000 charge points.

Since 2008, when Alfen started their EV charging business, the charge points have been installed in more than 25 European countries. The company also provides remote and on-site service in most of these countries.

Earlier this month, Alfen was selected by Vattenfall to supply a 20 MWh energy storage system based on BMW car batteries as well as “TheBattery Connect” energy management system and the local grid connection for the Swedish town Uppsala, the fourth largest city in Sweden, . This will be the third large-scale energy storage system Alfen delivers for Vattenfall.

On the occasion of reaching the 100,000 produced charging points, Jan-Anne Hoekstra, Commercial Director EV Charging at Alfen said: "We are extremely proud to have reached this milestone. It underpins how the market values our smart charge points that comply with country-specific requirements throughout Europe. Especially our ability to offer a smart charging network, where up to 100 and more Alfen chargers are linked together to optimally charge multiple EV’s, has been enabling our customers to optimise their e-business models.”
