Intersolar Innovation Day

July 15-16, 2020

The Intersolar Innovation Day is an online event for all innovation and solar enthusiasts.

In July 2020, the two-day event presented the latest innovations of the global solar industry covering various topics in the fields of solar cells and modules, inverters, mounting and tracking systems as well as solar power plants and solutions for the integration of renewable energy. Around 30 companies presented their innovations on stage to an international audience and to visitors at their booths in the Expo Area of the event. Different networking possibilities connected solar experts worldwide.

"The two-day online event celebrated its premiere recently with success and strong interactive participation. It became clear how high the learning curve and innovation dynamics are in the industry and that the journey is increasingly towards system solutions and new applications." – PV Europe (read full English article – Part 1 & Part 2 )

"Can Intersolar also do online? Until recently, this question was of a more theoretical nature, but as things stand today, it can certainly be answered with a "Yes, of course!" [...] The event certainly had a personality, one was close to the speaker, in fact much closer than usual." – DGS, Matthias Hüttmann ( read full German article )

More than two-thirds of all new solar capacity added in the EU in 2023 was distributed. The EU's Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which requires the installation of solar panels on buildings, will drive demand in the medium term. But what could speed up the deployment of rooftop solar installations on residential and commercial buildings in the short term? And how is the industry addressing the needs of these building types? This session will discuss:Drivers & challenges for distributed solar PV in EuropeTechnical solutions for high levels of solar self-consumptionBusiness models for prosumers and offers from utilities

As regulatory requirements and margin pressure make project development increasingly challenging, EPCs are confronted with new system designs and high volatility in product supply and cost. Once a PV power plant has been built, the O&M needs to ensure a high output. This requires more and more digital analytics, while asset managers must deal with increasing reporting services. The session will cover:Status of utility-scale solar power project development needsHow EPCs deal with rising costs and supply volatility pressureAdvanced analytics for effective O&MAsset management throughout the entire project lifecycleQ&A
