The Blockchain Bundesverband was founded on June 29, 2017 from the midst of the German blockchain community. The non-profit association quickly grew to more than sixty members, including the leading startups in the blockchain space based in Germany.
Sebnem Rusitschka is a computer scientist who has worked in applied research of Peer-to-Peer Computing, Machine Learning, and Smart Embedded Systems at Siemens in the application domain of energy automation since 2006. In 2016 she founded Freeelio in search for new and evolutionary business models for AI and Blockchain in the Energy Sector. Freeelio was one of 30 founding members of the German Blockchain Association "Bundesblock" in June 2017. Her journey has taken her to the wide design spaces of Cryptoeconomics applied to new energy access and sustainable life.
