Talk of session: Making Demand More Flexible, Balancing the Energy System

In the future electricity system, more flexibility is needed to integrate the increasing feed-in of renewable energies and simultaneously increasing the use of electricity. Making demand more flexible is a crucial pillar of the future electricity supply. By balancing supply and demand, the need for controllable power plants to secure supply can be significantly reduced, while at the same time making better use of weather-dependent generation from PV and wind plants. The flexibility of large industrial consumers could be activated quickly and cost-effectively. The potential of households will increase rapidly in the next few years due to electromobility and the increased use of heat pumps. New players such as storage operators or hydrogen electrolysers will enter the market. How can this flexibility potential be tapped quickly, effectively and efficiently? The session at the EM Power Forum will provide answers to these questions

Moderator: Bernhard Strohmayer, Head of Renewable Energies, bne - Association of Energy Market Innovators, Germany

Hybrid solar power plants are an emerging area in the energy sector, combining various technologies to provide more efficient and reliable power generation. With a close look on various case studies of hybrid solar power plants we will demonstrate that these systems are increasingly being used as viable solutions to meet growing energy demands, particularly in regions with variable weather conditions. By integrating solar installations with other energy sources, such as wind power or conventional power plants, a continuous power supply can be ensured, even when solar radiation fluctuates.
