Thank You for Participating: Advanced Diagnostics and Digitalization in the PV Sector Session Wraps Up with Key Insights; Access Slides Soon, Join Tomorrow’s Life Cycle Program at 9 AM, and Don’t Miss Tonight's Barbecue at 7 PM

The wrap-up session concluded with a thank you to all the speakers for their insightful presentations and to the audience for their attention. Key takeaways included valuable insights into employing advanced diagnostics and digitalization in the PV sector. Information about accessing presentation slides was provided, stating they will be available in two weeks via email from the organizers. The next day's program focusing on the life cycle and quality of PV power plants starts at 9 AM in the same room. Attendees were reminded not to miss an evening barbecue event scheduled at 7 PM, weather permitting, which requires a ticket. Additionally, attendees were invited to visit Task 13 experts at their booth for further interactions or obtain printed task reports or download them from the website. With these notes, the session was officially closed with repeated thanks for participation and engagement.

The utility-scale segment is being digitized at a rapid pace. New digital tools make workflows along the PV power plant value chain more cost-effective: from development to operations and maintenance. A key concept in PV digitalization is the so-called digital twin, a digital representation of the physical PV plant that accurately simulates the performance of a solar system. A digital twin enables better failure detection and support of the O&M decision-making process. This session will discuss: The role of digitalization and digital twins in the solar power plant sector How digitalization can enhance O&M activities Need for full integration of data along the value chain of PV power plants Benefits, drawbacks and hurdles for digitalization in the utility-scale segment (panel debate).

Despite strong research capabilities and the presence of leading production equipment suppliers, Europe has been struggling to rebuild competitive wafer-to-module manufacturing, while the USA and India have enabled a local renaissance in solar manufacturing. In Europe, even long-established inverter manufacturers have been losing considerable ground. With the EU's Net Zero Industry Act yet to deliver momentum, attention is turning to the upcoming Industry Accelerator Act. This session examines how policy, investment and value-chain strategies can strengthen domestic manufacturing and increase internal value creation.Key topics:Overview of EU and national policy frameworks to support local manufacturingStatus of Europe's solar manufacturing value chainInvestment gaps and competitiveness challenges Strategies for triggering a sustainable solar manufacturing revival
